Port Douglas Resort Covid-19 Update

At Port Douglas Apartments our priority is always the wellbeing of you, our guests.  We continue to monitor the COVID situation closely and have an industry approved COVID Safe plan in place.

COVID-19 Cancellation Policy

Due to the uncertainty surrounding our ability to travel freely these days we want our guests to know that if you are unable to travel due to Government restrictions there will be no penalty to cancel or change your new or existing booking. This applies to all bookings including those already booked under a non-refundable special.

June 30 2020

The Queensland Government has announced that Queensland borders will open on July 10 to all states except Victoria.  Visitors coming will have to fill in a border declaration.

We look forward to welcoming guests from these states and hope to be able to welcome Victorians soon.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Port Douglas Apartments and we want you to know that your safety and wellbeing is our highest priority.

We have always maintained the highest standards of cleaning and, in the wave of Covid19, we have launched enhanced cleaning procedures.

Your Port Douglas Team

We are constantly receiving updated information from the Queensland Health on hygiene and cleaning and have completed enhanced Covid19 awareness training.

Apartments

We have elevated our rigorous cleaning and disinfection protocols in our apartments after each guest departs and prior to arrival.  Particular attention is paid to disinfecting high touch areas.

Common Areas

We have increased the frequency of our cleaning regime for our common areas.  We are also now using stronger disinfectant for these areas.

Hand Sanitiser

We have set up hand sanitizer in several areas around our property including at reception, pool, BBQ and laundry.

BBQ

We have two communal BBQ’s which are normally side by side.  We have moved these apart so 2 guests can both BBQ at the same time while now maintaining proper social distancing.

Social Distancing

We have installed signage in public spaces to remind our guests to maintain social distancing.

Our laundry will only be able to accommodate one person or couple at a time due to its size.

Queensland Health directives limit our pool area to 10 guests at one time as long as they maintain the proper social distancing. The pool furniture is now set up the recommended distance apart and the same has been done with the seating in our BBQ and day bed areas.

COVID Safe

We have adopted our industry approved COVID Safe plan and can provide a copy on request.

YOUR SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY

Our in ground, salt water pool area is surrounded in lush tropical plants and is easily accessed and exited by built in steps with hand rail rather than a ladder.

The adjoining spa tub can accommodate four people comfortably and there are plenty of sun loungers available for our guests use. Patio tables and chairs are also supplied with shade provided by a mixture of tall trees and umbrellas.

The BBQ area is equipped with two BBQ’s, tables and chairs as well an outdoor sofa. This means there’s rarely any wait time to get your dinner started and no reason not to have some company while you do so. It’s well lit and quiet being located at the back of the property and is a great place to socialise.

There is also an extra day bed area which is perfect to read a book and relax.

Guest Facilities​

The Laundry Room is open daily from 8:00 a.m. until 7.00 p.m. and is complimentary for our guests. Nobody likes to do laundry but let’s face it, red wine happens! Best to deal with it straight away.

The parking is underneath the building, is free to use and is accessed from Macrossan St. Reception is open daily from 8:00 am and closes at 6:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 5:00 pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.

We live onsite and in the event of an emergency problem with your apartment are available to deal with it.

Should you want any information regarding the area, what to see and do, where to eat, bank, swim, just come down and talk to us.

Also available from reception during office hours are complimentary beach chairs, eskies and umbrellas (the rain kind, not the beach kind).

We’re more than happy to arrange a tee time or dinner reservation for you, just pop in and see us.

We operate a complimentary Tour Booking service from reception for the convenience of all our guests. Our extensive local knowledge of the type of tour, the times, the weather etc. can save you an enormous amount of time trying to decide between all that’s on offer in Port Douglas. As our guest we want to ensure that every moment of your Port Douglas holiday is exceptional so we will take the time to find out which of the many options available is most suited to your needs.

We know what is included with each trip, when they depart and return as well as what you can expect to experience while on your tour. Reef, Rainforest and Tableland trips depart daily with pickup here at the hotel so we can help you plan your schedule around what days work best for you.
